The agreement, in plain language.

Montaris is a private record-keeping platform: a place for families to organize holdings, documents, values, deadlines, and the conversations around them. It includes an AI assistant that files documents and answers questions from your family’s own records.

Montaris is not a financial advisor, law firm, accounting firm, or tax service, and nothing in it — including anything the AI assistant says — is financial, legal, investment, or tax advice. AI-generated summaries and answers can contain errors. The originals you upload remain the authoritative record; verify anything important against them, and consult qualified professionals before making decisions.

Keep your credentials to yourself, keep two-factor authentication enabled, and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised. Your access is personal — it may not be shared or transferred. The family administrator decides who is invited and what each person can see.

Everything your family puts into Montaris remains yours. You give us only the limited license needed to operate the service — storing your records, processing documents (including AI processing as described in the Privacy Policy), and displaying them to the people your family has authorized. You are responsible for having the right to upload what you upload.

Use Montaris only for lawful purposes. Don’t attempt to access records beyond your permissions, probe or disrupt the service, or use it to store or transmit unlawful content. We may suspend access that threatens the security of the platform or other users.

Montaris is currently provided to invited families without charge. If fees are ever introduced for your family, they’ll be communicated clearly and agreed in advance — no surprises, no retroactive charges.

We work to keep Montaris available and your records safe — the database is backed up daily, with an independent second copy. But no online service can promise perfect uptime, and Montaris is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. Keep your own copies of irreplaceable original documents.

To the maximum extent the law allows: Montaris and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for decisions made in reliance on the service (including AI-generated content). Our total liability for any claim is capped at the greater of the fees your family paid us in the twelve months before the claim or CAD $100.

Your family may stop using Montaris at any time and export its records. We may end service with reasonable notice. After termination, records are deleted as described in the Privacy Policy.

These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta, Canada, and any dispute belongs to the courts of Alberta. If we update these terms materially, we’ll announce it in the portal before it takes effect. Questions: howie@atrbenefits.com.
